Created exclusively in stop motion animation, with an art direction and production at the same time richly detailed and artisanal, inspired by Brazilian popular handicraft. The title sequence script recaps the main character’s journey through the Brazilian countryside, across different regions and landscapes. The whole voyage is deliberately shown as taking place within a single stage-like structure, with changes of scenery carried out through ingenious mechanical tricks that echo the theatrical essence of the full-length film’s narrative structure, which was based on two of Nóbrega’s plays.
D&AD celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its annual design and advertising awards. Since Lobo had just began a partnership with the institution, we proposed as a first collaborative project that we did an anniversary tribute in the form of a video. Our creative team was given full access to D&AD’s massive archive, and started the task of picking through thousands of outstanding examples of creativity in design and art direction. The over 20 references we picked were then reinterpreted afresh, using various techniques like 2D and 3D animation, stop motion, live action and puppetry.
Nischay Parekh, along with Jivraj Singh, explores sonical soundscapes often not familiar with singer-songwriters, if you must categorise him, but is hook friendly at its core, like any good song. A comforting voice, a great melody and interesting electronics make a great combo. With the song Panda, the filmmakers have hoped to recreate the emotions and visuals in one’s mind upon listening to the song. Shot in a single frame, in a single cut, the video uses live animation - created from static illustrations, often abstract and often literal to the lyrical and songwriting process of the song.

The basic concept of the IDs is exiting and breathtaking travelling through space-time portals. Camera flies through the energy field, historical era changes or viewer gets in a dimension filled with objects according to the theme of the ID. External surface of the circle is the portal, which is covered by symbols from different historical eras. And the Cyrillic letter inside rotates like a pointer on clocks. Textures, historical objects and locations - everything looks extremely realistic, like live shooting.
