Macau Light Festival 2019 TVC

Macau Light Festival 2019 TVC is a television commercial created to promote the Macao Light Festival. The film follows Mak Mak, the Macao tourism mascot, as local and visiting spectators explore four lighting routes and the changing cityscape of Macao. The commercial combines live action shooting, visual effects, motion graphics and three-dimensional animation. Local features are shown as installation art. The festival is presented as a giant birthday cake, marking the twentieth anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Macau Light Festival 2018 TVC

Macau Light Festival 2018 TVC is a television commercial created to promote a city light festival. The commercial presents the festival as a time tunnel. A first person view guides the viewer through lighting installations, three-dimensional projection mapping and interactive games. Local elements of gastronomy, architecture, culture and creativity are shown as installation art within the animation. All shots were planned in a storyboard and tested as a demo motion in three-dimensional software before filming. Live action footage, visual effects and motion graphics are combined.

Flora

Flora is a computer generated animated film created to present a multifunctional sofa inspired by blooming flowers. The film shows the design elements, functional features, craftsmanship and materials of the sofa. Artistic deconstruction, picture composition, lighting and theme design are used to present the product from many angles and to convey its aesthetic value. All elements are modeled in three dimensions, animated in Cinema 4D and rendered with Redshift, while the final composition is made in Adobe After Effects. The film is delivered in Full HD at 25 frames per second.

Temptress Moon

Temptress Moon is an animated music video made for a song about how people react during difficult times. The video shows a world in chaos, where people of different shapes connect, dance and gain strength together. Raw and bold textures express the harsh period, while strong and bright colours carry positive energy. The animation was produced with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. Three-dimensional layers and a plugin were used to create a sense of space. The video runs at 25 frames per second in a 1920 by 1080 format. The aim is to uplift viewers and support balance in life.

Uncontrolled Love

Uncontrolled Love is a publicity project for a public exhibition against domestic violence. The project includes a website, posters and an animated video. The exhibition presents the negative effects of domestic violence on children through real events and works of art. Visitors are shown how such treatment can harm the physical and mental health of children. Deep colors and a carefully developed painting style were selected to make the message direct and engaging. The aim is to help parents recognize harmful ways of educating children.

By Polar

By Polar is a short animation created for the winter of 2020. The story was inspired by a 2019 news report about a hungry and exhausted young polar bear seen wandering in the suburbs of the Siberian industrial city of Norilsk, hundreds of miles from its usual habitat. The animation focuses on the atmosphere and the mood of each scene, and music is used in place of spoken dialogue. All graphic elements were first illustrated on a tablet and a computer, then animated. By Polar recalls that some creatures are neglected in good and in harsh times.
